Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has issued a cease-and-desist notice over what she described as the publication and circulation of false, misleading and defamatory statements about her.

The notice, dated November 5, 2026, was issued by her solicitors, Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy, and signed by Tope Salami, Esq.

According to the letter, the law firm said it had become aware of statements, allegations and narratives being published and circulated about Abraham which it described as “untrue, misleading, unsubstantiated” and capable of causing serious damage to her professional reputation, personal integrity, image and goodwill.

The solicitors specifically cautioned bloggers, social media users, content creators and influencers against publishing or amplifying what they described as malicious claims targeting the actress.

The firm alleged that some “known persons” were behind the publications and were using sponsored individuals as cover to disseminate the claims.

It consequently directed members of the public to immediately stop making, publishing, reposting, circulating, endorsing or otherwise disseminating any false, misleading, malicious, defamatory or unverified statements concerning Abraham on social media platforms or through other communication channels.

The notice also reminded members of the public that freedom of expression does not amount to an unrestricted right to spread falsehoods, damage another person’s character or unlawfully injure their reputation.

Among other demands, Abraham’s lawyers asked individuals responsible for existing publications to remove posts, videos, comments and other content containing what they described as false or defamatory statements about the actress.

They also demanded that members of the public refrain from creating or promoting misleading narratives, fabricated allegations and malicious insinuations, as well as content intended to ridicule, harass or damage Abraham’s reputation.

The solicitors further warned against using social media or other platforms to encourage harassment, cyberbullying, intimidation or reputational attacks against Abraham or her business interests.

Future commentary concerning the actress, the firm said, should be factual, responsible, fair and supported by verifiable information.

The notice warned that anyone who continues to publish, circulate, endorse or amplify false and defamatory statements after receiving the warning could be held legally responsible and face appropriate legal proceedings and other remedies available under Nigerian law.

Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy also disclosed that relevant publications, social media posts, comments, videos and other digital materials could be preserved as evidence for possible legal action.
