The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, has applauded the nomination of former Oyo State First Lady, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, as an ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, describing the appointment as befitting recognition of her longstanding service to the nation.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the traditional ruler said Mrs. Ajimobi’s elevation reflects her consistent dedication to public service, adding that she has repeatedly demonstrated strength, discipline and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Oba Alao noted that her track record, particularly during her years of service in Oyo State alongside her late husband, former governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, distinguished her as a patriotic figure who contributed meaningfully to the upliftment of lives.

“On behalf of my family, the Olugbon-In-Council and the entire Surulere Local Government, I congratulate the Yeye Oba of Orile-Igbon, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, on her nomination as an ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the monarch said.

According to monarch, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to include Mrs. Ajimobi among the ambassadorial nominees is a clear affirmation of her integrity and devotion to national progress.

“This was the reason I conferred on her the chieftaincy title of Yeye Oba of Orile-Igbon. Chief Mrs Ajimobi is a distinguished Nigerian with sterling leadership qualities,” he added.

Oba Alao expressed confidence that the nominee would excel in her new assignment.

“I congratulate her on this nomination, and I am confident that she will scale through and serve Nigeria with honour,” the statement concluded.
