Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has congratulated legendary Waka music icon, Salawa Abeni, on the occasion of her 65th birthday, describing her as a role model and an industrious figure in the entertainment industry.

In a goodwill message issued in Abuja on Saturday, the First Lady praised the veteran singer for her remarkable contributions to Nigerian music and culture over the decades.

“I felicitate you, your family, friends and loved ones on the occasion of your 65th birthday,” Tinubu said.

She noted that Salawa Abeni’s journey in the Nigerian music industry had become a symbol of talent, resilience and excellence, while also promoting the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

“Your journey in the Nigerian music industry has remained a symbol of talent, resilience and excellence, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of our nation for decades,” the First Lady stated.

Tinubu further commended the singer’s dedication to her craft, saying her influence had continued to inspire admiration and respect both within Nigeria and among fans in the diaspora.

She also prayed for continued good health, peace and happiness for the music legend.

“I pray that Almighty God grants you divine health, peace, joy, happiness and many more fruitful years. Happy 65th birthday, Queen Salawa Abeni,” she added.

Born on May 5, 1961, in Ogun State, the veteran musician marked the milestone with appreciation messages and celebrations alongside family, friends and fans.
