Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday announced the appointment of the vice chairman of South West Group of Online Publishers (SWEGOP), Dapo Falade, as Senior Special Assistant on Information and Orientation.
The governor also appointed 10 other individuals to man key sectors of the state government.
Falade’s appointment was announced in a statement dated September 25, 2026, and signed by Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the governor, in which former Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Chairman, Akin Alamu, was also named a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council.
Alamu had previously served as a member of the state’s Advisory Council.
The governor also appointed Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing and a Board Member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, while Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was named Special Adviser on Rural Development.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were communicated through letters signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Makinde appoints aides on information, chieftaincy
In the area of information and public orientation, the governor also appointed Yinka Oladoyinbo as Executive Assistant on Information and Orientation and Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa as Senior Special Assistants on Information and Orientation.
For chieftaincy matters, Makinde named Hon. Seun Adelore as Senior Special Assistant.
The appointments also cover urban development, culture, tourism, sports and public infrastructure.

Adewusi, a former Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, is expected to serve as Executive Assistant to the Sports Commission.

Makinde charged the newly appointed officials to discharge their responsibilities with dedication, commitment and loyalty to the people and government of Oyo State.
