Eligible pensioners under the Lagos State Defined Benefit Scheme have been given one month to complete an online verification exercise scheduled to begin on October 26 and end on November 25, 2026.
Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) said the exercise is mandatory for retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO).
Director-General of LASPEC, Babalola Obilana, announced the exercise in a notice issued by the commission, urging all affected pensioners to complete the process within the approved timeframe.
According to LASPEC, the verification is intended to update pensioners’ records and confirm the eligibility of beneficiaries under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also known as the Pay-As-You-Go pension system.
The commission stressed that the exercise would be conducted strictly online, advising pensioners not to visit its office for the verification.
LASPEC pension verification portals
Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries are required to use verify.laspec.gov.ng for the exercise.
TESCOM pensioners are to access verify.tescomlagos.ng, while pensioners under the Civil Service Pension Office are expected to use verify.cspo.ng.
The commission said pensioners must first complete a two-step login validation with their Oracle number and surname.
After gaining access, participants are expected to select the self-service option and follow the instructions displayed on the portal to complete the verification.
As part of the process, pensioners must activate their device cameras to take photographs for identity confirmation.
They are also required to provide either their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN).
Participants must subsequently update their personal information, provide details of their next of kin and submit their records after ensuring that all information supplied is accurate.
LASPEC urged pensioners to carefully review their information before submission to avoid errors that could affect the verification process.
Contact details for pensioners
Pensioners requiring assistance with verification for retired heads of service, permanent secretaries and TESCOM can contact Mrs Morenike Makinde on 09053962112.
Those under the Civil Service Pension Office can contact Mrs Alabi Adedamola on 08023064050.
Further enquiries can also be directed to [email protected].
LASPEC said the online arrangement was designed to make the verification process more convenient for eligible retirees and eliminate the need for physical visits to its office.
Obilana therefore urged all affected pensioners to use their designated verification portals and complete the exercise before the November 25, 2026 deadline.
Pensioners are advised to begin the process early rather than wait until the closing date, particularly because the exercise requires identity confirmation, personal data updates and submission of additional beneficiary information.
