Adebayo Balogun, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, has called on the party leadership to zone the House of Representatives ticket to Odo-Otin Local Government Area (LGA) ahead of the upcoming primaries.

Balogun, who serves as the spokesperson for the late Afenifere leader Ayo Fasanmi and coordinates the Odo-Otin Progressive Like-Minded Group, issued the appeal in a statement released Monday in Osogbo.

He expressed deep concern regarding the perceived political marginalisation of Odo-Otin, noting an unequal distribution of elective positions within the constituency.

According to Balogun, granting the ticket to Odo-Otin is a matter of equity, fairness, and justice.

He argued that the local government has waited long enough for its turn while other areas continue to benefit from rotational arrangements.

“We want Odo-Otin to get the ticket and not be sidelined while other local governments continue to benefit from the rotation of this ticket,” Balogun stated.

He added that the LGA possesses credible and competent aspirants capable of winning elections and effectively representing the constituency.

To ensure a fair process, the APC chieftain appealed to former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande to intervene in the zoning arrangement.

He also called upon the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, to support the demand in the interest of maintaining party unity.

Balogun further urged APC State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, members of the Elders’ Forum, and other key stakeholders to take decisive action to address the issue.

He concluded by charging political leaders within Odo-Otin to unite and speak with a single voice to advance the collective interests of the area.
