Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has announced the birth of his triplet sons with his wife and fellow actress Adebimpe Oyebade, marking a significant milestone for the couple.
Adedimeji shared the news on Friday via his official Instagram page, where he expressed profound gratitude and described the children as both a blessing and a responsibility.
“I’ve been quiet… not absent. I was building, protecting, and embracing the greatest blessing of my life. God gave me more than I prayed for, a woman who became a mother of three, and three kings to call my own,” he wrote.
The actor concluded his message with the Islamic expression “Alhamdulilah,” but did not disclose the names of the children or their date of birth.
The announcement triggered an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.
Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe wrote, “To God be the glory. Congratulations.”
Similarly, Juliana Oloyede expressed emotional excitement, saying, “God is Good!!! Watching this again, I’m in tears. Congratulations, my fam, so happy for you two. Can’t believe I’m an auntie.”
Actress Omowumi Dada also joined in celebrating the news, describing it as “Such good news for the month of May.”
The development comes after Adedimeji previously spoke about the emotional strain caused by online trolling directed at his wife over childbearing.
In a 2025 interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, he revealed that the couple endured repeated hurtful comments, including allegations questioning his wife’s fertility.
“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said.
Despite the criticism, the actor noted that the experience strengthened their relationship rather than weakening it.
Reflecting on his career journey, Adedimeji also recounted early challenges in the industry, including moments when he lacked support for major projects such as his film “Lisabi”.
He credited his wife for standing by him during those difficult periods.
Adedimeji and Oyebade, both prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry, were married in 2021.
