The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, has launched a series of strategic engagements with key security agencies to bolster inter-agency collaboration and combat rising insecurity across the state.
The Commissioner initiated the familiarisation visits on Tuesday, meeting with leadership from the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
During talks at the 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta, Ojajuni and Brigade Commander Brigadier General Godwin U. Nwamba discussed consolidating military-police partnerships.
The leaders focused on improving joint operational frameworks, synchronising patrols at security flashpoints, and enhancing rapid response mechanisms.
In a meeting with the Department of State Services (DSS), Ojajuni and State Director R.A. Adelakun deliberated on strengthening intelligence-led security.
The agencies emphasised the need for proactive surveillance and the timely dissemination of actionable information to prevent security breaches from escalating.
Addressing border security, the Ogun CP met with Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Comptroller Olufunke Yetunde Odusote.
The discussions centred on curbing human trafficking, smuggling, and illegal migration through unauthorised routes via enhanced joint surveillance of border communities.
At the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ojajuni and Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo outlined strategies to protect critical national infrastructure.
The agencies pledged to conduct joint enforcement operations to tackle vandalism and sabotage of public and private utilities.
Ojajuni described inter-agency synergy as a “critical pillar” for effective policing.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building stronger operational bridges and sustaining collective efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property throughout Ogun State.
