A 29-year-old business manager has been arraigned at the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State for the alleged theft of N6.8 million from her employer.
Ademola Adenike, who resides at no fixed address, faces a one-count charge of stealing.
During the court proceedings, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, E.O. Adaraloye, informed the court that the alleged crime took place at JDKL Recycling Nigeria Limited, located at KM5, Ajegunle Road, Atan-Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that Adenike utilised her position as a business manager at the firm to divert N6.8 million into her personal bank account.
Magistrate O.O. Fadairo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N700,000, with one surety providing a similar amount.
The case has been adjourned until May 24 for further hearing.
