Prospective applicants seeking to join the Nigerian Navy have only a few days left to submit their applications for the 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment exercise.
The Nigerian Navy recruitment portal is scheduled to close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2026, meaning eligible Nigerians who are yet to apply have until the deadline to complete and submit their applications.
The recruitment exercise, which opened on October 2, is being conducted online through the official Nigerian Navy recruitment portal.
How to apply for Nigerian Navy recruitment
Interested applicants should visit the official recruitment website at joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng and follow the application process.
Applicants are required to create an account using their email address and phone number.
Both are verified through one-time codes before the application can proceed.
The portal also requires applicants to verify their identity using their National Identification Number (NIN).
According to the recruitment portal, the process includes an NIN lookup against NIMC records followed by a brief liveness face verification.
After identity verification, applicants can proceed to complete the online application, which is divided into guided stages.
Applicants are advised to carefully provide accurate information and upload the required documents before submitting the form.
They should also ensure that their application is fully submitted before the October 31 deadline, rather than leaving the process incomplete on the portal.
The Navy’s recruitment portal states that applicants can subsequently track their application status and, if shortlisted, download their examination slip.
When is the Nigerian Navy aptitude test?
The Nigerian Navy has scheduled the aptitude test and written examination for November 21, 2026 at designated centres nationwide. However, only shortlisted applicants will proceed to this stage.
Successful candidates are expected to proceed to basic military training in the first quarter of 2027, according to the recruitment portal.
Nigerian Navy recruitment is free
Applicants have also been warned against paying money to individuals or agents claiming to have the ability to secure recruitment slots.
The Nigerian Navy has previously cautioned members of the public against fake recruitment notices and unauthorised platforms, stressing that official recruitment information should be obtained through its authorised channels.
The service also said its recruitment process is free of charge.
Prospective applicants should therefore avoid unofficial websites, social media agents and individuals demanding payment in exchange for assistance with recruitment.
With the application portal closing in just four days, eligible candidates who intend to participate in the Nigerian Navy Batch 39 recruitment exercise are advised to complete their applications as soon as possible.
