The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly called diesel, in a move aimed at easing energy costs and supporting economic activities across Nigeria.

Under the revised pricing structure released on Wednesday, the refinery cut the ex-depot price of petrol by N50 per litre, bringing it down from N1,215 to N1,165.

The ex-depot price of diesel was also reduced by N80 per litre, dropping from N1,650 to N1,570.

The adjustment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Dangote Group, which said the latest price review reflects the refinery’s continued commitment to making refined petroleum products more affordable and accessible to Nigerians.

According to the company, the decision is part of broader efforts to improve energy affordability while supporting businesses and other productive sectors that rely heavily on petroleum products.

The refinery said it remains focused on delivering high-quality fuels to the domestic market and will continue to leverage operational efficiencies to offer competitive pricing whenever market conditions allow.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market,” the statement said.

It added that the reduction in petrol and diesel prices underscores its determination to create greater value for consumers, businesses and other stakeholders through efficient refining operations.

The company further assured Nigerians of a stable supply of petroleum products, noting that it would continue to transfer the benefits of improved operational performance to customers as circumstances permit.

Beyond pricing, the refinery reiterated its strategic role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by increasing local refining capacity, reducing dependence on imported petroleum products and contributing to the country’s economic growth through the supply of world-class fuels.

The latest adjustment comes as motorists, transport operators and businesses continue to monitor fuel prices amid ongoing changes in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
