A cross-party mobilisation effort for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election took shape in Osun State on Saturday as political leaders backed the inauguration of 10,000 door-to-door canvassers ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The initiative, organised under the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, brought together members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the Ademola Adeleke administration and political figures from outside the ruling party at an event held at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo.

Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented at the event by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, while Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, was represented by the APC’s 2026 Osun governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

The gathering also featured representatives of Niger Delta political leader and businessman, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, who donated 30 campaign vehicles equipped with speakers, generators and amplifiers to support grassroots mobilisation.

Adewusi called on members of the Accord party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other supporters within the coalition to put past disagreements aside and work towards Tinubu’s re-election.

He described the gathering as evidence of political stakeholders from different affiliations coming together around the presidential election.

Oyetola, represented by Oyebamiji, said the inauguration reflected commitment, organisation and a shared belief in Tinubu’s continuity agenda.

He commended Ekpemupolo for supporting the mobilisation initiative and his advocacy for Tinubu’s re-election across the country.

Oyetola said the campaign for Tinubu was gaining momentum across the Southwest and urged supporters to work towards delivering what he described as overwhelming support for the President.

“Our target of mobilising 1.5 million votes for President Tinubu in Osun is achievable if we approach the assignment with unity, discipline and determination,” he said.

He also charged the canvassers to approach their responsibilities with sincerity and discipline, urging them to avoid hypocrisy, political pretence and complacency.

Representing Ekpemupolo, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, said the 30 vehicles were provided to facilitate the movement’s grassroots campaign.

Pondi said the group believed Tinubu’s economic reforms were producing an environment capable of attracting investment, while urging Osun voters to give the President substantial support at the polls.

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Adekanbi, urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the 2027 election.

He called for support for Tinubu irrespective of political affiliation, with organisers setting varying targets at the event, including between 1.5 million and two million votes, while Pondi separately spoke of a target of at least 90 per cent of votes in the state.

Osun has 2,339,233 registered voters, while 1,906,390 had collected their Permanent Voter Cards, according to figures presented at the event.

The State Coordinator of the movement, Adeolu Olanrewaju, pledged that the canvassers would take the campaign to households across Osun and engage stakeholders at the grassroots.

APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, also highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu administration, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, infrastructure projects, increased allocations to states and improvements in the economy.

The inauguration marks an organised attempt by Tinubu’s supporters in Osun to combine the party’s grassroots structure with a broader network of political actors ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
