Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord party have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying the administration should be allowed to complete ongoing national infrastructure projects.

The endorsement was announced after a meeting between Governor Adeleke and the party’s national executives on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

In a statement issued by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for Adeleke’s re-election campaign, the meeting focused on the state of the party as well as political developments at both the national and state levels.

According to the statement, the Accord party leadership unanimously adopted President Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election, citing the need for continuity in the execution of major infrastructure projects across the country.

The party stressed that ongoing projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, should be completed, arguing that sustained investment in critical infrastructure would deliver long-term economic and developmental benefits.

The meeting also reviewed preparations ahead of the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

Party leaders called on all stakeholders to ensure the electoral process remains peaceful, transparent and credible.

Accord warned against any acts of violence, intimidation, electoral malpractice or the deployment of security agencies to harass or suppress its members during the election.

It urged security agencies, electoral officials and political actors to uphold democratic principles and create a level playing field for all contestants.

Among the national officers who attended the meeting were the National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; and National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph, alongside other party officials.
