The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) opened its online application portal for the Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 47/2026 recruitment exercise today, Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The application window is scheduled to run from September 3 to October 14, 2026, according to the official NAF recruitment portal.
The exercise is for Nigerians seeking enlistment as Airmen and Airwomen and covers two broad categories: Non-Tradesmen/Women and Tradesmen/Women.
For applicants preparing to register, here is a step-by-step guide to the requirements, documents and application process.
1. First, know which recruitment category you belong to
NAF divides BMTC recruitment into two categories:
Non-Tradesmen/Women
- For applicants seeking general Airmen/Airwomen positions.
- Age requirement: 18 to 22 years.
Tradesmen/Women
- For applicants with relevant technical, professional or trade qualifications.
- Age requirement: 18 to 25 years.
NAF says BMTC is designed as a short period of military training for recruits who will become Airmen and Airwomen.
2. Check the basic eligibility requirements
