The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced a major stakeholders’ summit scheduled for Friday in Ibadan as part of efforts to consolidate ongoing reconciliation moves and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the summit is being facilitated by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The gathering comes barely two months after the party held a widely commended leadership summit in Ibadan, which drew notable figures from within and outside the state.
Sadare said the party’s current trajectory under the State Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abas, has continued to attract broad support from stakeholders committed to building a more united and formidable APC ahead of the next electoral cycle.
“We are delighted with the level of cohesion the party is witnessing under the leadership of Alhaji Olayide Abas, who has received overwhelming backing from virtually all stakeholders,” he said. “This summit is another step toward tightening the party structure and ensuring every bloc is carried along as we march toward 2027.”
The meeting, slated for 10:00 a.m. at the APC State Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, is expected to attract an extensive list of party leaders and former officeholders. Expected attendees include former deputy governors; former and serving members of the National Assembly; former and serving ministers; and current as well as past appointees of the Federal Government.
Also invited are former and serving members of the Oyo State House of Assembly; past and present members of the APC National and Zonal Executive Committees; former First Ladies; members of the Elders Advisory Council; zonal party leaders; former Secretaries to the State Government; former Chiefs of Staff and Deputy Chiefs of Staff; former commissioners; and former local government chairmen, vice chairmen, and secretaries.
Present local government party chairmen and secretaries, former party executives at both state and local government levels, ward chairmen past and present, and former heads of government agencies who are APC members in the state are equally scheduled to attend.
The APC said the summit aims to map out concrete strategies for internal cohesion, improved engagement among party blocs, and a unified path toward reclaiming power in the 2027 elections.
