President Bola Tinubu officially commissioned the new corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) in Abuja on Tuesday, marking a major milestone in the nation’s fiscal reform.

The event formalises the transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the newly restructured NRS.

This reorganisation is a central part of the Tinubu administration’s strategic plan to modernise Nigeria’s tax system and enhance administrative efficiency.

During the commissioning ceremony, the president was joined by several high-ranking officials, including NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

While unveiling the facility, the president read a commemorative plaque stating that the edifice stands as a “lasting symbol of integrity”.

The new headquarters is a significant architectural addition to the capital, consisting of three towers and 16 floors.

The facility is designed to accommodate approximately 3,000 employees as the agency moves forward with its restructured mandate.
