The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled power outage in parts of Ibadan, Oyo State, due to planned maintenance at the Ayede Transmission Substation.

In a statement released Tuesday, TCN General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, confirmed that a 100MVA 132/33kV transformer will undergo routine preventive maintenance.

The shutdown is expected to take place between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

TCN stated that the exercise is part of a proactive effort to ensure the facility remains efficient and reliable.

It noted that the scheduled maintenance will allow engineers to perform essential checks and servicing to maintain optimal transformer performance.

The temporary shutdown will impact the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), which will be unable to supply electricity to customers in the Express, Industrial, and Oluyole areas during the maintenance window.

TCN assured the public that normal power supply will be restored immediately once the maintenance exercise is completed.
