Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced preparations for the 2027 general elections and is confident of retaining its political dominance in the state.
Sanwo-Olu stated this on Monday after inspecting the party’s presidential and governorship campaign offices in Lagos to assess its level of preparedness ahead of the elections.
The governor said the APC campaign committee had commenced strategic planning and was developing its roadmap for the 2027 polls.
He said President Bola Tinubu, who is the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, the APC governorship candidate in Lagos, and other candidates in the state were committed to the party’s campaign efforts.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the committee was already working on its strategies and coordinating activities ahead of the elections.
“The campaign committee is fully in its element, mapping out the road ahead and sharpening our strategy,” the governor said in a statement posted on his X handle.
He added that “there is serious, structured work happening behind the scenes” as the party positions itself for the 2027 elections.
Sanwo-Olu said he was encouraged by the level of commitment and enthusiasm among APC members, noting that the party remained focused on sustaining its political momentum in Lagos.
“I am encouraged by the energy and sense of purpose,” he said.
The governor further declared that the APC was “focused, aligned and ready to win across the board”, signalling the party’s determination to secure victory in the presidential, governorship and other electoral contests in the state.
He also linked the party’s electoral plans to the continuation of its development agenda in Lagos.
“Together, we will keep building on Lagos’s momentum and pushing our state forward,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The governor’s remarks come as political parties begin to intensify their preparations and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
