The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has raised the alarm over alleged plans by political thugs to attack members of the Park Management System (PMS) and other supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.

The organisation accused Governor Seyi Makinde and the African Democratic Congress (APM) governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, of orchestrating attempts to intimidate opposition members ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

SSACO also alleged that campaign billboards belonging to Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the APC governorship candidate, were being vandalised and destroyed in different parts of the state.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, November 8, 2026, and signed by its Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, the organisation claimed that the alleged threats formed part of a coordinated effort to weaken the APC’s support base and discourage its members from participating in political activities.

The campaign organisation linked the alleged development to previous attacks on opposition supporters, claiming that an APC member was killed in Ibadan in October, while several others sustained injuries in separate incidents over the past two months.

SSACO further alleged that intelligence available to it indicated plans by some PMS members to attack National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) members supporting the APC.

It specifically identified a popular transport union member known as Oyere and his followers as alleged targets of the planned attacks.

According to the organisation, some PMS members reportedly monitored APC supporters during Senator Alli’s manifesto unveiling at Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall last Tuesday, where it claimed that the names of NURTW members, particularly those who recently joined the APC, were identified and discussed.

The group also linked the alleged plot to the large turnout at a weekly NURTW meeting chaired by Oyere at his office, which it said attracted hundreds of members.

SSACO claimed that a meeting allegedly convened at about 10pm on Friday on the directive of a member of Governor Makinde’s inner circle discussed plans to launch coordinated attacks against NURTW members supporting the APC.

It further alleged that participants at the meeting agreed to disrupt the union’s weekly gatherings as part of efforts to weaken the opposition party’s support ahead of the 2027 elections.

On the alleged destruction of campaign billboards, the organisation accused agents of the state government of vandalising Senator Alli’s campaign materials and pressuring billboard owners who had entered into advertising agreements with the APC candidate.

It also alleged that the state government was targeting billboard proprietors for doing business with the APC campaign, claiming that the development was undermining their businesses and restricting the opposition’s ability to campaign freely.

Describing the alleged actions as a threat to democratic participation, SSACO said political intimidation and the destruction of campaign materials could undermine the credibility of the electoral process.

The organisation maintained that no amount of intimidation would stop Oyo State residents from supporting Alli and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

It also criticised the Makinde administration, alleging that the state had experienced setbacks in local government administration, education, healthcare and public service delivery.

SSACO called on the Oyo State Commissioner of Police and other security chiefs to investigate the alleged threats and take preventive measures against any planned political violence.

It also urged residents to hold Governor Makinde and Adekanmbi accountable for any violence that might arise from the alleged activities of their supporters.
