The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has inaugurated a Camp Court and appointed three corps members as Camp Directors for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
The measures were introduced to strengthen discipline, improve communication and promote orderly conduct among corps members throughout the three-week orientation programme.
The State Coordinator, Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, who inaugurated the Camp Court on Saturday, said the body would be activated whenever necessary to address cases of misconduct and ensure that appropriate disciplinary measures were applied to offenders.
Kubiangha urged corps members to familiarise themselves with the rules and regulations governing the orientation camp, warning that violations could attract disciplinary action.
“We have introduced the officers of your platoons to you, and we work as a team. You are all a family here. You have your officers, Man O’ War and military personnel. If you misbehave, the Camp Court will sit, and any decision it takes will be enforced,” he said.
He also advised corps members to maintain close contact with their platoon officers and other camp officials, while remaining vigilant and avoiding conduct that could expose them to disciplinary proceedings.
The Camp Court comprises the camp director, camp commandant, head of police, head of Man O’ War, head of platoon, a legal practitioner and a platoon leader.
In a related development, the NYSC Osun State Coordinator announced the appointment of three corps members as Corps Camp Directors, describing the initiative as a means of improving communication between camp management and corps members.
According to Kubiangha, the directors would serve as a link between corps members and the camp management and would participate in kitchen activities, management meetings and lectures.
He added that they would also monitor activities in corps members’ hostels and provide an avenue for corps members to raise concerns when they are unable to reach camp management directly.
“They are your leaders. If you have any issues and you cannot meet with the management of the camp, you can confide in them,” he said.
The newly appointed Corps Camp Directors are Ganiyu Alimat Olanike (OS/26B/2908), a graduate of English Education from Ekiti State University; Ajakaiye Babatunde (LA/26B/17210), a graduate of Quantity Surveying from the University of Ilorin; and Oluoladele Jesudunsin (OS/26B/2132), a graduate of International Relations from Caleb University.
Kubiangha charged the three directors to carry out their responsibilities diligently, foster cordial relationships with fellow corps members and uphold the rules and regulations of the NYSC Orientation Camp.
The initiatives form part of efforts by the Osun NYSC management to ensure discipline, effective leadership and smooth coordination during the Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation exercise.
