The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300 belonging to retired Ogun State Television broadcaster, Mrs Kitan Oyesiku, who was murdered alongside her security guard at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of the state.

The recovery of the vehicle, which was initially reported missing following the killings, marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the tragic incident that has shocked residents and media practitioners across the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, personally visited the crime scene to assess the progress of investigations and obtain first-hand updates from detectives handling the case.

According to the statement, the visit formed part of the command’s efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the retired broadcaster and her security guard.

“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” the statement said.

During the inspection, the police commissioner examined the premises and received detailed briefings from investigators.

He reaffirmed the command’s determination to identify and prosecute those responsible for the killings.

Babaseyi stated that Ojajuni assured residents that the police would deploy all available resources to ensure the perpetrators are tracked down and brought to justice.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” the police spokesperson added.

The command further confirmed that police operatives successfully recovered the missing Lexus RX300 during a night operation.

“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” the statement noted.

Police said the recovered vehicle has been secured and incorporated into the ongoing investigation, while efforts continue to identify and arrest those behind the attack.

Ojajuni also extended condolences to the family of the deceased and assured members of the public that investigators were making steady progress in the case.

According to earlier police findings, a resident alerted authorities after noticing suspicious activities around the property.

Responding officers who arrived at the scene reportedly discovered signs of forced entry into the residence.

A subsequent search led to the discovery of the security guard’s body at his duty post, while Oyesiku was later found dead inside the house.

The incident has sparked concern among residents and colleagues of the deceased, with many calling for a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victims.
