Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved a fresh round of appointments into strategic positions within his administration, including the nomination of the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Olabode Taiwo Ladipo, as a commissioner-designate.
Ladipo’s nomination has been transmitted to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in accordance with constitutional requirements.
The appointments, announced in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, were made public on Tuesday.
According to the letter, all the appointments will take effect from July 1, 2026.
In addition to Ladipo’s nomination, the governor appointed Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Isola Abiodun Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs, and Oladejo Emmanuel Oladokun as a Part-Time Member of the Local Government Service Commission.
Upon confirmation by the House of Assembly, Ladipo is expected to become a member of the Oyo State Executive Council, while the other appointees will immediately assume their respective responsibilities from the effective date.
Akande will lead the committee overseeing the ongoing upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, a major infrastructure project of the Makinde administration designed to expand the airport’s capacity and stimulate economic growth in the state.
As Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs, Adekunle is expected to enhance internal party coordination and strengthen stakeholder engagement, while Oladokun will contribute to personnel management and governance at the local government level through his role on the Local Government Service Commission.
Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering quality service to the people of the state.
According to the statement, the governor charged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, loyalty and unwavering commitment.
