Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest have renewed their commitment to securing victory in the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, promising a united and coordinated campaign in the closing days before the poll.
The pledge was made during a strategic meeting held on Sunday at the Lagos State House in Marina, where key party leaders reviewed campaign preparations and discussed strategies to strengthen the APC’s electoral prospects.
Among those present were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, APC elder statesman Chief Bisi Akande, and the party’s governorship candidates for Oyo, Ogun and Lagos states.
Speaking after the meeting, the APC governorship candidate in Osun said the gathering was aimed at harmonising campaign activities and reinforcing collaboration among party stakeholders ahead of the election.
According to him, the discussions focused on reviewing campaign plans, aligning political strategies and ensuring that the party speaks with one voice as the election approaches.
“The meeting presented an opportunity to review our plans, align our efforts, and reinforce our shared commitment to delivering victory for the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 governorship election,” he said.
He described unity as one of the party’s greatest strengths in the Southwest, noting that the support and guidance of senior party leaders had further strengthened the campaign.
“I am inspired by the invaluable insights, encouragement and unwavering support of our leaders, whose wealth of experience continues to strengthen our resolve to build a winning campaign and offer Osun the purposeful leadership it deserves,” the candidate added.
He reiterated that his administration, if elected, would prioritise sustainable economic growth, youth employment, empowerment initiatives and accountable governance across the state.
“Our mission remains clear: to restore sustainable economic growth, create opportunities for our youth, empower our people, and deliver responsible governance that will improve the lives of every resident of Osun State,” he said.
The APC candidate also pledged to sustain consultations with communities and other stakeholders throughout the state, expressing confidence that the party would win the election.
“With the support of our party, the National Campaign Council and the good people of Osun State, we will, by the grace of God, secure victory and usher in a new era of shared prosperity for our dear state,” he said.
The Osun governorship election will hold on August 15, with political parties intensifying campaigns across the state as the race enters its final phase.
