The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a National Campaign Council to coordinate preparations for the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti State.

In a move aimed at consolidating its campaign structure ahead of the poll, the party appointed the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, as Chairman of the council, while the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, will serve as Vice Chairman.

The APC said the campaign council comprises serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other influential stakeholders within the party drawn from different parts of the country.

To further strengthen its electioneering efforts, the party also constituted a number of sub-committees to manage strategic areas of the campaign.

The committees include those responsible for election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots engagement and mobilisation, logistics and campaign coordination, protocol, media and publicity, security, women’s mobilisation, youth mobilisation, and secretariat operations.

According to the party, the establishment of the campaign council and the various committees is intended to ensure a coordinated, robust, and effective campaign structure ahead of the Ekiti governorship election.

The APC expressed confidence that the arrangements would enhance its readiness and improve its chances at the poll.

The party hopes for the re-election of the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, who is contesting under its platform.
