Abba Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has pledged 10 buses to support mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abba made the pledge during a visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday, where he was received by the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Bukar Dalori.
According to a statement by Yusi Buba, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation to the APC Deputy National Chairman, Abba expressed support for the Tinubu administration and its continuity beyond 2027.
“In a demonstration of his commitment to the political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections, Hon. Abba Atiku Abubakar announced the donation of ten buses to support activities aimed at mobilising support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027,” the statement said.
Dalori, according to the statement, welcomed Abba and acknowledged the pledge as support for the party’s mobilisation activities ahead of the election.
Abba’s latest move comes alongside the unveiling of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), a political support platform established to mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu across the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Abba said the organisation would commence its activities in the Federal Capital Territory before expanding to other parts of Nigeria.
He also announced plans for a two-million-man mobilisation march across the six geopolitical zones, with Abuja serving as the starting point.
Abba said his support for Tinubu was based on his personal political conviction and assessment of the administration’s policies and reform agenda.
His political alignment with Tinubu places him on a different side of the 2027 contest from his father, who is holding the ADC ticket to contest against the president in the January 2027 election.
Abba had initially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in January 2026 and declared support for Tinubu’s second-term bid. He also renamed his political structure, originally established as the Atiku Haske Organisation, as the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.
Atiku subsequently described his son’s decision to join the APC as a personal choice and said he would not interfere with the political convictions of his children.
The former vice-president, however, maintained his opposition to the APC administration and commitment to providing an alternative ahead of 2027.
