Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, has called for a thorough investigation into the reported killing of a party member, Khalid Adeyemo, popularly known as Paul Moor.

Alli made the call during a condolence visit to the deceased’s family in Ward 06, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, following the reported killing of the APC member last Friday.

The senator, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, described the death as a painful and unacceptable loss, urging security agencies to identify and arrest those responsible for the incident.

According to reports, Adeyemo was killed in an attack involving suspected hoodlums linked to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), for allegedly defecting to APC.

During the visit, Alli expressed sorrow over the death, describing the deceased as a young man whose life held considerable promise.

He said the circumstances surrounding the killing must be fully investigated, stressing that the bereaved family deserved justice and reassurance that the matter would not be swept under the carpet.

“All those found culpable must be brought to justice,” Alli said, while urging security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspected perpetrators.

The senator was accompanied by other APC leaders during the visit.

As part of efforts to support the family, Alli provided financial assistance to the deceased’s pregnant wife and mother.

He also pledged continued support for the widow and assured the family that he would work towards ensuring she receives adequate care and assistance after childbirth.

Earlier reports from the senator’s campaign organisation said the killing occurred in Ward 6, Ibadan South-West, amid heightened political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The organisation had urged political leaders and security agencies to take steps to prevent further attacks on political actors in the state.

Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo, also urged the bereaved family to draw strength from their faith and remain steadfast despite the circumstances surrounding the death.

Adeyemo prayed for divine comfort for the family, asking God to strengthen them to endure the tragedy and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The condolence visit comes amid growing political activity in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections, with political parties and campaign organisations increasingly engaging supporters across the state.
