Eagle 102.5 FM, Ilese-Ijebu, has emerged as the most-listened-to radio station in Ogun State, recording more than 1.5 million daily listeners, according to the latest Media Planning Services (MPS) listenership ratings.
The station announced the development on Friday, describing the rating as a major milestone and a validation of its growing audience base across Ogun State and its coverage areas.
Chairman of Eagle 102.5 FM, Asiwaju Kunle Kalejaye, SAN, attributed the achievement to the confidence of listeners and the contributions of the station’s management, staff, advertisers and partners.
Kalejaye said the rating represented both an honour and a greater responsibility for the station, particularly given the size of its reported daily audience.
He said the station would continue to invest in quality content, personnel and technology while remaining responsive to the needs and aspirations of its audience.
Since its establishment, Eagle 102.5 FM has operated under the slogan “Up There With You”, with programming focused on journalism, entertainment, music and conversations around issues affecting communities.
The station said its performance in the latest MPS ratings was driven by its emphasis on credible journalism, engaging programmes, quality entertainment and discussions on issues of public interest.
Head of Station, Olakunle Balogun, described the latest rating as a defining moment for the Eagle brand, saying it reflected the commitment of the station’s entire workforce as well as the loyalty of its listeners.
“This is a remarkable milestone for Eagle 102.5 FM. To be recognised as the number one most-listened-to radio station in Ogun State, with over 1.5 million daily listeners, is a huge responsibility,” Balogun said.
He said the reported listenership showed that audiences had confidence in the station’s programming, while also creating an obligation for the broadcaster to improve its output.
Balogun pledged that Eagle 102.5 FM would continue to provide credible information, quality entertainment and what he described as intelligent conversations while adapting to changing audience expectations.
He also thanked listeners in Ijebu Land, across Ogun State and within the station’s wider coverage areas for making Eagle 102.5 FM their preferred radio station.
Management acknowledged the contributions of its listeners, advertisers, programme partners, presenters, journalists, producers, engineers and administrative personnel to the station’s growth.
The station said it would use the latest recognition as motivation to further raise its broadcasting standards in Ogun State and beyond.
