Lagos and Osun have been designated as two of the nine centres for the physical verification of credentials and travel documents of foreign-trained Nigerian graduates preparing for the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I service year.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) announced that the verification exercise will hold from Wednesday, September 9 to Friday, September 11, 2026, for foreign-trained Nigerian Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) whose credentials and travel documents are yet to be physically verified.
The information was shared on Thursday via the NYSC’s X account and its WhatsApp Channel platform.
For candidates in the Southwest, the designated centres are:
- Lagos: NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyanapaja, Lagos, Lagos State.
- Osun: NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo, Osun State.
Other centres designated by the NYSC are:
- Enugu: NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu, Enugu State.
- Bauchi: Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi, Bauchi State.
- FCT: NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja.
- Kano: Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano, Kano State.
- Rivers: NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
- Sokoto: Eagle Officers’ Mess, Giginya Cantonment, Gusau Road, Sokoto, Sokoto State.
- Adamawa: NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola, Adamawa State.
NYSC issues reporting directive
The corps directed affected PCMs to report strictly according to the date, time and venue stated on their verification slips.
It said the directive is intended to ensure orderliness and prevent overcrowding at the verification centres.
Candidates are required to appear with the original copies of all credentials and travel documents uploaded, or expected to be uploaded, during the online registration process.
Medical graduates have additional requirements
Foreign-trained medical graduates are required to meet additional documentation requirements.
According to the NYSC, they must upload their licences, registration certificates and other relevant documents issued by their respective professional bodies.
They must also bring the original copies of those documents to their designated verification centres for inspection.
NYSC clarifies requirement for evaluation letters
The corps also directed PCMs to submit the original copies of Evaluation Letters issued by the Federal Ministry of Education at NYSC Headquarters in Abuja.
After submission, candidates are expected to upload the acknowledged copies online.
The NYSC advised affected foreign-trained graduates to ensure that all required documents are complete and available before appearing for physical verification.
Only verified PCMs will proceed
The NYSC management stressed that physical verification is a critical requirement for foreign-trained graduates in the mobilisation process.
It stated that only PCMs who are physically seen with their credentials, physically verified and cleared would be deployed, exempted or excluded from national service.
Foreign-trained graduates who selected Lagos or Osun as their verification centres are therefore expected to appear at the appropriate location within the September 9–11 window and comply with the details contained on their verification slips.
The NYSC has urged candidates to follow the specified reporting arrangements to ensure a smooth verification exercise.
