The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a social media publication directing prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on September 18, 2026, describing the notice as fake.
The Force made the clarification in a disclaimer shared on its verified Facebook page, warning prospective recruits and members of the public against relying on information that does not come through official channels.
According to the disclaimer, the circulating publication purportedly emanated from the organisation and directed prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on September 18.
However, the Force stated that the publication was not an official communication and should be disregarded.
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to state that the said publication is not an official communication of the Force and should be disregarded,” the disclaimer stated.
The Police advised all prospective trainees to rely exclusively on information communicated through their respective recruitment portals and the official communication channels of the Nigeria Police Force.
The clarification is aimed at preventing prospective recruits from acting on false information as the Police recruitment and training exercise progresses.
The Force also urged members of the public to stop circulating unverified information that could create confusion or mislead prospective recruits.
It stressed the importance of obtaining recruitment updates from verified sources rather than relying on social media publications whose authenticity cannot be established.
Prospective Police Constable recruits are therefore advised to verify any information concerning their training dates, reporting instructions and other recruitment requirements through their individual recruitment portals and the official communication platforms of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Police warning comes amid the widespread circulation of recruitment-related information on social media, where false notices can easily be shared among prospective applicants.
