The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible voters in Osun State following the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a statement issued by the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Oluwatoyin Babalola, the electoral body said the exercise covers newly registered voters, those who applied for transfer of registration, requested replacement of lost or damaged PVCs, as well as individuals who updated their voter records during the registration period.
According to the Commission, the first phase of the distribution will take place at all 332 Registration Areas across Osun State from Wednesday, July 22, to Tuesday, July 28, 2026.
Collection will be conducted daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including weekends.
INEC stated that after the initial exercise, the collection of PVCs will continue at its Local Government Area offices across the state from Wednesday, July 29, to Friday, August 7, 2026, within the same daily schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Commission added that PVCs that were not collected during previous registration exercises would also be available for collection throughout the distribution period.
Babalola urged all eligible voters to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain their PVCs, emphasising that the card remains the only valid means of voter accreditation during elections.
She also reminded residents that the collection of PVCs is strictly personal, warning that no individual would be allowed to collect a card on behalf of another person under any circumstance.
The Osun REC reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, credible, inclusive and transparent governorship election in Osun State, urging voters to participate fully in the electoral process by collecting their PVCs ahead of the poll.
