The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can begin printing their original result slips, a key document required for admission processing into tertiary institutions.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the examination body said the original result slips would become available for printing within two hours of the announcement.

According to JAMB, the document contains important details beyond the scores already released to candidates.

These include the candidate’s photograph, national ranking, and other security features needed for post-UTME screening and admission consideration by higher institutions.

“The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing within the next two hours today, Wednesday, 17th June, 2026,” the board stated.

JAMB explained that the original result slip forms part of the official documentation required by universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions during admission exercises.

The board noted that candidates do not need to visit any special centre to obtain the document, as it can be printed from any internet-enabled device.

It added that candidates may also use accredited business centres to access and print their slips.

The examination body advised candidates to carefully verify all information contained on the printed document and retain copies for future admission-related purposes.

The development follows the release of results from the 2026 UTME mop-up examination conducted on June 13 for candidates who were unable to complete the main exercise due to technical difficulties or biometric verification challenges.

JAMB released the mop-up results on June 16.

The board had earlier delayed the printing of original result slips to allow for the completion of foreign-based examinations and the mop-up exercise.

On May 19, it appealed to candidates to remain patient while those processes were being concluded.

With the original result slips now available, candidates can proceed with applications for admission into tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The release also comes as several institutions across the country have either commenced or are preparing to begin their post-UTME registration exercises.
