The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular actor Adeshina Okiki Janmole in a tragic road accident.
Reports of the fatal crash emerged on Tuesday, although details surrounding the incident were still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Actor Akin Olaiya confirmed the heartbreaking development by sharing a video from the accident scene on social media.
Expressing shock and grief over the incident, Olaiya offered prayers for the deceased and bade him farewell.
“Inalilahi Wainalilahi Rojihuna. This is sad. Rest in peace, Adeshina Okiki Janmole,” he wrote.
The president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN), popularly known as Mr Latin, also reacted to the actor’s death with a heartfelt condolence message.
He prayed for the repose of Janmole’s soul and asked God to comfort the bereaved family, friends, and colleagues left behind by the tragic loss.
“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen,” he stated.
Janmole’s death has since sparked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans within the Yoruba movie industry, many describing the incident as a painful and shocking loss.
