The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has named Damilola Sonayon-James as its deputy governorship candidate ahead of the forthcoming election in the state.
She will contest alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, as the ruling party intensifies efforts to maintain its political dominance in Lagos.
According to a report by TVC News, party insiders disclosed that the decision emerged after a series of internal consultations within the APC leadership structure.
Sources within the party said the choice of Sonayon-James was part of broader strategic moves aimed at strengthening the APC’s campaign machinery and expanding its political reach across various parts of the state.
The Hamzat–Sonayon-James ticket is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming days as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the election.
