The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has expressed grief over the sudden death of Mrs. Bunmi Oyewole, wife of a former Head of News and Current Affairs at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).

The Union described her passing as painful and shocking, saying the news of her demise came as a rude shock to journalists and media practitioners across the state.

In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Akeem Abas, and the Secretary, Temidayo Adu, the Council said it received the news with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss.

According to the statement, Mrs. Oyewole made remarkable contributions to journalism through her distinguished career and remained a respected figure within the media community.

The Council further described her as a virtuous woman, devoted wife, and caring mother whose humility, kindness, and dedication to family values earned her admiration from many people within and outside the journalism profession.

Oyo NUJ noted that her death has created a vacuum in the lives of her family, friends, and associates, adding that her positive impact and cherished memories would continue to live on in the hearts of loved ones.

While praying for the peaceful repose of her soul, the Council urged the family and management of BCOS to take solace in the worthy life she lived and the legacy she left behind.

The NUJ Oyo State Council also extended its condolences to her husband, the entire Oyewole family, colleagues at BCOS, and all those affected by the loss, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
