A woman’s desperate cries for her missing twin baby at a Lagos hospital have gone viral, sparking allegations of baby trafficking and chaos at the facility.
In a video circulating on social media, Blessing Isioma David, 28, is seen holding one newborn while demanding the whereabouts of her second child from medical staff at Tip-Top Solution hospital in Ikotun.
The scene unfolded after David gave birth on Wednesday. In the footage, she shouts, “Produce my second baby. This is not good enough. I did not come to this hospital to be robbed of my baby.”
Accompanied individuals can be heard calling for the arrest of hospital staff.
A scan report dated March 2026, showing a twin pregnancy, was displayed in the background, which stated, “Twin visible… Gender for Twin 1 is XY, while Gender for Twin 2 is XX.”
However, the hospital’s medical director, Sunday Babajide, refuted the claims.
He maintained that only one baby was delivered and attributed the mix-up to an inaccurate scan result.
Babajide insisted that both the husband and the mother were awake during delivery and confirmed seeing only one baby.
“The mistake we made was that we should have insisted on her doing another scan elsewhere to be doubly sure,” Babajide added.
The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the matter, with the Area Commander personally overseeing the case.
The police urged residents to remain calm, assuring them that findings will be made public.
