President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the recruitment of 98,325 grassroots mobilisers across Ondo State as part of early preparations for the 2027 presidential election, the state coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Victor Olabimtan, has disclosed.

Olabimtan said the mobilisation strategy involves recruiting 25 canvassers from each of the state’s 3,933 polling units to promote the President’s re-election bid and strengthen grassroots political engagement ahead of the poll.

He made this known on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Ondo State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akure, the state capital.

According to him, the recruited canvassers will focus on community-level mobilisation, with each individual tasked with persuading at least five voters to support the President during the election.

“The President has directed that in each polling unit, we should recruit 25 canvassers. These individuals will be remunerated three months before and two months after the election, and payments will be made directly to them,” Olabimtan said.

He emphasised that electoral victories are primarily secured at the polling-unit level, noting that the mobilisation effort is designed to strengthen the ruling All Progressives Congress’ grassroots presence.

“The work of winning elections is at the polling units, not at the ward, state or national level. The target is for each of the 25 canvassers per unit to mobilise at least five voters. When multiplied across the state and nationwide, victory is assured,” he added.

Olabimtan further stated that both President Tinubu and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa would fund the remuneration of the canvassers.

The coordinator explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative has been established across the 36 states of the federation to bridge communication gaps between the Federal Government’s policies and the citizens expected to benefit from them.

According to him, the initiative also aims to disseminate accurate information about government programmes while gathering feedback from grassroots communities.

“The RHA is a nationwide initiative aimed at educating Nigerians about the Federal Government’s reforms and opportunities under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Olabimtan said.

“The programme seeks to enhance public awareness of ongoing interventions and ensure that citizens are well informed about available opportunities.”

He urged members of the group to actively support mobilisation efforts and strengthen the structure of the ruling party at the grassroots.

“Each of you was selected based on your pedigree and track record. You are expected to strengthen connections with All Progressives Congress structures across Ondo State, from the state leadership to local governments and wards,” he said.

He explained that the network would help promote party unity, maintain consistent messaging and support elected officials in engaging more effectively with local communities.

Olabimtan, a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, however assured that the formation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would not disrupt the activities of other Tinubu support groups already operating in the state.

He also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his role in the selection of members, expressing confidence that the group would work diligently to achieve its mobilisation objectives.
