The Southwest Public Relations Officer of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kilamuwaye Badmus Oladayo, widely known as BAKO, has resigned from his position and withdrawn his membership from the party.
Badmus announced his resignation in two separate letters addressed to the Ward 3 Chairman of the NNPP in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, and the party’s National Chairman, dated October 29, 2025.
“I, Hon. Comr. Kilamuwaye Badmus Oladayo, aka BAKO, hereby formally tender my resignation as a member of the New Nigeria People’s Party in Ward 3 of Abeokuta South Constituency 1 area of Ogun State and at the same time as the Party’s Southwest PRO,” the letter read in part.
The Abeokuta-born politician, who has been a vocal figure in the NNPP’s Southwest structure, expressed gratitude to God and party members for the opportunity to serve.
“I am very grateful to Almighty God and to all the Southwest states of the New Nigeria People’s Party, especially the Ogun State NNPP, for giving me the opportunity to serve at the zonal national level of the party,” he stated.
Known for his grassroots mobilisation and media engagements, Badmus described his decision as “purely personal,” saying his time in the NNPP gave him a platform to demonstrate his “political dexterity and sagacity.”
Although he did not reveal his next political move, sources close to him said he intends to take some time to “reassess his political direction” before making further decisions.
Badmus’s exit comes amid ongoing internal restructuring within the NNPP following months of leadership disputes and shifting alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
