The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his special adviser on media and digital communication ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The appointment takes immediate effect, according to a statement signed by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Oyo State governor, on Thursday.
The statement said further appointments to the campaign team would be announced subsequently.
Makinde described Ehilebo, a lawyer and communication strategist, as an experienced professional whose expertise would strengthen the APM’s communication strategy as the party prepares for the 2027 presidential contest.
According to the governor, Ehilebo’s appointment is expected to play a key role in communicating the party’s message of resetting Nigeria and mobilising support for the APM ahead of the election.
Makinde also called on Nigerians to support the APM, describing the 2027 presidential election as a significant opportunity to change the direction of the country.
He criticised the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he described as a failed administration, and urged Nigerians to rally behind the APM.
“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde said.
The appointment comes as political parties and potential presidential contenders begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.
