President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State on his re-election following Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Governor Soludo, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning after sweeping all 21 local government areas of the state.

In a personally signed statement released on Sunday, President Tinubu described Soludo’s re-election as a historic and well-deserved victory that underscores the trust and confidence the people of Anambra have in his leadership.

“The overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term,” Tinubu noted.

He commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and INEC for ensuring a peaceful and credible election, which he described as another step forward in Nigeria’s democratic consolidation.

President Tinubu lauded Soludo’s administration for promoting accountability, transparency, and prudent management of state resources, describing him as a leader who has effectively translated academic excellence into practical governance.

“Governor Soludo, the Solution, has demonstrated that indeed knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people,” the president said.

Recalling his visit to Anambra in May 2025, Tinubu praised the governor for his developmental strides and for embodying the state’s motto, “Light of the Nation.”

“I commend Governor Soludo for bringing discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra,” Tinubu added.

The president urged the re-elected governor to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents for the state’s continued peace and progress.

He also assured Soludo of the Federal Government’s continued partnership in advancing the state’s development agenda.

“The victory of the opposition All Grand Progressives Alliance in the election again demonstrates the vitality of our political system,” Tinubu stated, commending INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan and his team for conducting what he described as a credible election.

President Tinubu encouraged the electoral body to sustain and improve its performance in future polls to further strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.
