Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated Dr Gbemisola Titilayo Odusote on her appointment as Director General of the Nigerian Law School by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The governor described the appointment as historic, noting that Dr Odusote, an indigene of Ado-Ekiti, is the first woman to be appointed to the position since the establishment of the Nigerian Law School.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for finding the Ekiti-born lawyer, scholar and administrator worthy of the elevation. He said the appointment underscored the President’s capacity to identify competence and merit for strategic national roles.

Governor Oyebanji said he had absolute confidence in Odusote’s ability to succeed, citing her impressive track record across previous professional and academic assignments. He described the new Director General as a distinguished scholar and seasoned administrator with proven integrity and notable accomplishments within the legal academy.

According to the governor, the Nigerian Law School is at a critical juncture in the country’s legal education and professional training ecosystem, and Odusote’s wealth of experience positions her well to provide steady and visionary leadership.

Oyebanji urged her to continue to uphold the values of integrity, dedication, loyalty, courage and excellence, virtues he said are commonly associated with Ekiti indigenes and have clearly defined her career progression.

He further assured the new Director General of the full support of the Ekiti State Government and its people as she assumes office.

“Hearty congratulations to another daughter of the Land of Honour, Dr Gbemisola Titilayo Odusote, on her elevation as Director General of the Nigerian Law School. The Government and good people of Ekiti State wish her success and God’s guidance in the new assignment,” the statement read.

“Our special thanks to the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for finding her deserving of the elevation. Dr Odusote’s appointment is further evidence of the President’s ability to identify and appoint talented and competent hands to strategic positions,” it added.
