The Ondo State Police Command has successfully intercepted a kidnapping attempt along the Idogun–Imeri axis in Ose Local Government Area, resulting in the rescue of two victims.

The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 4:55 p.m. when suspected kidnappers launched an attack on a social gathering where guests had assembled.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that security operatives responded immediately to distress calls.

Upon arriving at the scene, the team engaged the assailants, effectively disrupting the criminal operation.

The command confirmed that the two rescued individuals were promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The state Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the officers for their rapid response and pledged intensified security measures across the region.

He also expressed gratitude to the local citizens whose timely intelligence proved vital to the operation, urging the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement with credible information.

While reinforcements have been deployed to the area, a manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

The command reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to eradicating violent crime, vowing that all perpetrators will face the full weight of the law.
