The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, and over 100 clubgoers during a midnight raid on Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to a statement issued by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy for the NDLEA, and published on the agency’s website on Sunday, operatives recovered cartons of banned substances, including Loud (a strain of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), during the operation conducted in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Babafemi said the raid was the culmination of a covert operation based on credible intelligence. NDLEA officers had infiltrated the club at about 11 p.m. on Saturday, before storming the venue at 3 a.m. on Sunday in line with standard operational procedures.

“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was going on,” the statement read.
“Over 100 suspects, including the club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening. Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from suspects at the party and from the club’s store.”

Confirming his arrest, Tuoyo Ideh took to his Instagram page to lament his experience, alleging that NDLEA officials treated the club patrons as criminals.

“I have been arrested by the NDLEA from a nightclub in Lagos for basically doing nothing at all,” he wrote. “They made us sit down like criminals; over 150 people were brought to NDLEA headquarters in Ikoyi. They came in with guns and told everyone to lie down.”

Meanwhile, the NDLEA also announced a major breakthrough in its anti-narcotics operations, revealing the interception of 70 parcels of cocaine concealed in cocoa butter body cream containers bound for London at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the agency, the 3.6-kilogram cocaine consignment was discovered on October 14, 2025, during the inspection of cargo declared as personal effects and scheduled for export via an Air Peace flight to London.

The NDLEA said Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, a cargo agent who presented the consignment for shipment, was immediately arrested. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects — Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a female healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, Chief Executive Officer of a travel agency, Mutiu Adebiyi & Co.

“In a follow-up operation on October 18, Ogunmuyide was arrested, and on October 20, Adebiyi was picked up at his office located at 23 Ladoke Akintola Street, Ikeja GRA,” the statement added.

The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking, consumption, and distribution, particularly in entertainment and export channels.
