Foreign-trained Nigerian graduates in the Southwest whose credentials and travel documents are yet to be physically verified by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been directed to attend a verification exercise scheduled for October.

NYSC said the physical verification for prospective members of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I service year will hold from Tuesday, October 13, to Thursday, October 15, 2026.

In the Southwest, the exercise will take place at designated NYSC secretariats in Lagos and Osun states, providing verification points for foreign-trained graduates in the region.

The Lagos exercise will be held at the NYSC Secretariat, Old Census Office, 50 Babs Animashaun Road, Surulere, Lagos, while the Osun exercise will take place at the NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo.

The notification, shared by NYSC through its WhatsApp channel, specifically concerns foreign-trained Nigerian graduates whose credentials and travel documents are yet to be physically verified.

Graduates affected by the requirement are expected to make themselves available at one of the designated centres during the three-day exercise.

The physical verification forms part of NYSC’s mobilisation process for graduates trained outside Nigeria.

The scheme has previously identified credential authentication and verification of foreign-trained graduates as important parts of efforts to ensure that only qualified prospective corps members are mobilised.

Other designated centres are located in Enugu, Bauchi, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano, Rivers and Sokoto.

The exercise is particularly significant for foreign-trained graduates seeking inclusion in the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I mobilisation process, as NYSC maintains a separate verification process for graduates who obtained their qualifications outside Nigeria.

Its official website also provides dedicated information for foreign-trained prospective corps members and lists support lines for foreign evaluation enquiries.

Graduates planning to attend the exercise are advised to rely on NYSC’s official communication for any additional requirements or changes to the exercise arrangements.
