The Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association has honoured some of its distinguished members, including Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, by inducting them into its Hall of Fame.
The induction was one of the highlights of the Association’s 12th Global Convention, held at the university’s main campus in Ado-Ekiti, where alumni from across the world gathered for two days of deliberations, reunion, and celebration of excellence.
Other eminent personalities honoured at the event include the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Dr. Soji Ehinlawo; Chairman of the EKSU Alumni Board of Trustees, Yinka Oyebode; Dr. Kingsley Kuku; Akinsanmi Falaki; Dr. (Chief) Omotayo Alle; and Tope Adebayo, among others.
The event also featured the formal signing of the association’s newly reviewed constitution by the Global President, Ambassador Seyi Idowu, alongside the Board of Trustees and the Legal Adviser, a milestone described as a major step toward strengthening the body’s governance framework.
In his welcome address, Ambassador Idowu expressed joy at the large turnout, describing the gathering as a testament to the unity and commitment that define EKSU alumni worldwide. He called on members to remain steadfast in supporting developmental projects that will enhance the university’s growth and international reputation.
The convention was graced by eminent figures, including the Chancellor of the University, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe; Vice Chancellor, Professor Babatola Joseph Ayodele; and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo Kingdom, among others.
The two-day event has been described as one of the most successful in the history of the EKSU Alumni Association, showcasing the institution’s legacy of excellence and its growing network of accomplished graduates.
