The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of a property belonging to popular Lagos socialite and entertainer, Mike Nwalie, popularly known as Pretty Mike, following allegations that it was being used for drug storage and distribution.

Justice Musa Kakaki granted the order on Tuesday after hearing an ex parte application filed by counsel to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Buhari Abdulahi.

The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, and operating as Proxy Lagos Nightclub, was allegedly used as a base for the storage and distribution of 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) weighing 384.662 kilogrammes, and 200 grammes of Cannabis Sativa.

According to the NDLEA, the nightclub, jointly owned by Pretty Mike and one Joachim Hillary, was also being prepared as the venue for a “large-scale drug party.”

Abdulahi, in his submission dated October 27, 2025, urged the court to order the interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government, describing it as an “instrumentality of crime” under the NDLEA Act. He also sought an order suspending all commercial and entertainment activities on the premises pending the conclusion of investigations.

The NDLEA counsel argued that the order was essential to preserve the integrity of the property while investigations continue, assuring the court that no party would be unfairly prejudiced.

An affidavit deposed to by Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Nasiru Garba Bungudu, stated that the agency received credible intelligence in October 2025 about preparations for a major drug event at the nightclub. Acting on the tip-off, NDLEA operatives from the Lagos Strategic Command raided the premises at midnight on October 26, 2025.

During the operation, officers reportedly recovered 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide and 200 grammes of cannabis, and arrested over 200 persons, including Pretty Mike and Hillary. Laboratory analysis later confirmed that the recovered items were controlled substances.

The affidavit further alleged that the nightclub had previously been linked to drug-related activities carried out with the knowledge of its owners.

After reviewing the motion and supporting documents, Justice Kakaki granted the NDLEA’s request for interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government and ordered that all operations at the premises remain suspended until investigations are concluded.

The matter was adjourned until January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
