A member of the House of Representatives and former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has applauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for reinstating the dissolved commissioners and special advisers, describing the move as a clear demonstration of respect for party supremacy and institutional stability.

Bamisile, who represents Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, issued the commendation in a statement released through his media office in Abuja on Thursday. He said the governor’s decision would help consolidate governance efforts while strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in the state.

According to him, returning the former cabinet members will allow the administration to sustain momentum rather than risk disruptions that could arise from onboarding an entirely new team at the twilight of the governor’s first term.

“Party produces a government and they deserve to be respected,” he said. “I agree with the fact that bringing a new set of commissioners at this time, when the first four years of the governor are coming to an end, may impede the rate of delivery of the dividends of democracy. This is the more reason why the APC was voted for in the last governorship election.”

He commended the APC State Working Committee for offering what he called the “most appropriate advice” to guide the governor, noting that the intervention demonstrated the party’s commitment to both effective governance and internal cohesion.

Bamisile urged the reinstated commissioners to apply their experience, deepen their commitment to service, and “hit the ground running” once assigned portfolios, stressing that their understanding of government operations should translate to accelerated delivery across sectors.

“We should bear in mind that the party is facing an election in six months’ time,” he said. “While pursuing the second term of Governor Oyebanji, governance shouldn’t suffer, and that is where the experiences of the returned commissioners are required to make things happen in the best shape and form.”

He lauded Governor Oyebanji for what he described as an exemplary display of humility and political maturity. “I salute Governor Oyebanji for embracing this superior argument despite having the powers to hire and fire. This shows that he has respect for party supremacy and that he is a core party man.”

Bamisile appealed to the commissioners to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to the governor and to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC across all 177 wards during the forthcoming governorship contest.

“We knew what happened during the primary. There were a lot of suspicions about the activities of some cabinet members. This shouldn’t rear its ugly head again. We must all join hands together and deliver victory to Governor Oyebanji in the coming election.”

He added that the push for Oyebanji’s re-election is based on performance, not sentiment. “We are not returning Governor Oyebanji because he is a governor, but because he has delivered on his mandate in terms of infrastructure, youth empowerment, food security, and popularising our party, making it a darling organisation among Ekiti residents,” he said.
