The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has suspended three of its personnel for alleged gross misconduct and breach of trust.

Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made this known on Monday in Akure while addressing journalists on the development.

He alleged that the affected officers – Abu Taiwo, Akinsipe Victor, and Akinjumi Julius – were sponsored to undermine and discredit the corps through false claims circulating on social media.

“All that you have seen on social media about the 15 allegations they raised are baseless,” Adeleye said. “As we speak, the three of them have been reprimanded and declared wanted. In a security agency, oaths of allegiance and secrecy to the state cannot be compromised.”

He explained that the suspended officers acted in isolation and that the corps would not be dragged into public controversy.
“The fact remains that they are acting alone. The corps will not engage in social media drama with those who have chosen to malign its image. We have proof that they are being sponsored,” he added.

Adeleye emphasized that the corps would follow due process in the matter, saying the suspended officers would have an opportunity to defend themselves through appropriate legal channels.

In a related development, the Amotekun commander also disclosed that four suspects had been arrested across different parts of Ondo State for alleged theft and for serving as informants to kidnappers.

He reassured residents that Ondo State remains safe for business and social activities, noting that Amotekun would continue to strengthen its operations to safeguard lives and property.
