Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dismissed speculations of an impending impeachment of his deputy, Olayide Adelami, describing the claims as unfounded and baseless.

The governor addressed the issue on Friday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Ayegunle-Iwaro Oka Road in Oka, Ondo State, as part of activities marking his first year in office.

His remarks followed a viral social media video in which a cleric predicted political turmoil in the state, including the alleged removal of the deputy governor.

The prophecy was delivered by Olumuyiwa Akogun, General Overseer of God Central Ministry, who claimed to have seen a vision foretelling a political crisis between the governor and his deputy.

In the widely circulated clip, the cleric recounted seeing what appeared to be a breaking news announcement about Adelami’s impeachment. He further described a symbolic scene in which the governor and his deputy were standing behind one another with a flag before a sudden storm emerged and separated them.

Reacting to the prophecy, Aiyedatiwa categorically rejected any suggestion of discord within the state’s executive arm. He maintained that Adelami remains loyal and has committed no offence warranting impeachment proceedings.

“There is no issue between us,” the governor said, emphasizing that his administration remains united and focused on delivering its mandate to the people of Ondo State.

Political observers note that rumours of internal rifts within state governments often surface during milestone celebrations or political transitions. However, Aiyedatiwa’s public reaffirmation of confidence in his deputy appears aimed at quelling speculation and stabilizing public perception.

The governor reiterated his commitment to governance and infrastructure development, highlighting the road commissioning as evidence of his administration’s focus on tangible projects rather than distractions.

With his administration marking its first anniversary, Aiyedatiwa signaled that cohesion within the executive remains intact, dismissing the viral prophecy as a non-issue.
