The Governing Council of Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, has approved the appointment of Professor Oyesoji Aremu as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution. His appointment, which took effect on December 1, 2025, will run for an initial tenure of eight months.
Professor Aremu, an accomplished academic and respected university administrator, joined Achievers University on April 2, 2024, as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic). Before moving to the institution, he served in the Department of Counselling and Human Development Studies at the University of Ibadan (UI), where he distinguished himself as one of Nigeria’s foremost scholars in security studies, human development, and higher education administration.
His appointment is widely viewed as a strategic step toward strengthening leadership at Achievers University, particularly as the institution intensifies efforts to deepen innovation, expand academic offerings, and enhance its global competitiveness. Over the years, Aremu has earned significant national and international recognition for his scholarship, mentorship, and service to the academic community.
