Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved a fresh round of appointments to key boards, commissions and agencies as part of efforts to strengthen his administration.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, affect several institutions, including the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Local Government Service Commission, Muslim Welfare Board, Christian Welfare Board and Consumer Protection Agency.
A statement issued on Friday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the new appointments were aimed at improving the effectiveness of government institutions and ensuring better delivery of responsibilities across the state.
Mrs Brown Ademilegun was appointed the full-time chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, placing her at the helm of the agency responsible for coordinating basic education programmes in the state.
Segun Ayerin was appointed chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.
Other major appointments include Adam Chandy as chairman of the Muslim Welfare Board and Pastor Peter Abimbola as chairman of the Christian Welfare Board.
Oluyemi Fashipe was also named chairman of the Ondo State Consumer Protection Agency.
Alongside the board and agency appointments, Aiyedatiwa approved a change in his advisory team, appointing Femi Fadairo as Special Adviser on Special Duties and Strategy.
Fadairo takes over the position from Gani Mohammed, who has been redeployed to serve as Special Adviser on Mines and Mineral Resources.
The governor also approved the appointment of other full-time and part-time members to various boards and commissions as part of the latest administrative changes.
Aiyedatiwa congratulated the appointees and charged them to approach their responsibilities with dedication, transparency and a commitment to the interests of residents of Ondo State.
According to the governor, the appointees are expected to contribute meaningfully to the effective implementation of government policies and programmes in their respective areas of responsibility.
Adeniyan said the latest appointments formed part of the governor’s broader efforts to strengthen the machinery of government and enhance the delivery of public services across Ondo State.
The changes come as the administration continues to reposition key government institutions through new leadership and appointments to statutory boards and agencies.
